tradclimbing in Bohuslän

Two hours' drive from Oslo lies the climbing mecca of Bohuslän, in the south of Sweden. The area is considered world-class for climbing on gear (trad climbing) and is a perfect place for an introduction to this style of climbing. Whether you have experience with placing your own gear (cams and nuts) or not, this setup will suit you. If you have previous experience, we can build on that, and if you have never touched a cam before, we'll put one in your hand. Most of the participants on our trips come alone, but we become a social and inclusive group.

Perhaps you have seen "Free Solo"? Paula, one of the instructors on the trip, has climbed this route up “El capitan” in Yosemite, but thankfully using her own protections and ropes. You won't find a better teacher, and Bohuslän is her second home.

We will go through essential principles and methods required to become a safe and independent climber. You will receive thorough instruction on gear placements and assessments, how to build a solid anchor, and also receive feedback on your technique. We will tailor the ambitions to the group's level, so everyone goes home enriched with knowledge and experiences.
